Bears are one of the reasons I geek out about evolution. They are part of the caniformia (dog-like) tree but they are more closely related to seals and otters than they are to dogs. Not counting the polar bear, they have largely similar teeth to ours in the sense that they are well suited for eating fruits and other plants. Outside of primates, bears are also one of the few species of mammal that can stand on two legs and sit like we can.

Plus I’ve been having trouble sleeping lately so that whole hibernation thing sounds awfully good right about now.
